And, so it begins

It's been a crazy few weeks, so it is almost surreal to be at the airport getting ready to leave for Scotland. Since it is just Carrie and me this time, I surprised her by using whatever miles I had accrued and upgraded us to business class for this trip. One unintended benefit was being able to wait for our flight in the United Club. This is not normal for us, by any means. The entire time we've been in here, I've been halfway expecting to be told to leave, that we don't belong. It sure beats waiting in the loud crowded gate area. And, we had to leave the hotel before having breakfast, so the free buffet was a bonus.I'm sitting next to the window overlooking the path of the baggage carts. One of the drivers took the turn a little too fast, and a bag came careening off the cart. After stopping, he put it back on, and it fell off again. After struggling with it, he got it to stay on. Since this was a United cart, and we are flying United, I am holding off posting this until we arrive. I would hate for it to be seen online and then be beaten and dragged off the flight. ;)Yesterday, we attended the beautiful wedding of one of Carrie's teachers - Makayla Perot, now Heeney. It was an outdoor wedding at Grace Vineyards, south of Galt. It was a beautiful venue and ceremony. The only downside is that it was HOT. H.O.T. I think I still have heat stroke. Our destination will be at least 30 degrees cooler the entire time we're there. One of my Apple friends in Cork always goes to North Africa on holiday. He's tired of the cool and rain and wants some hot sun. It is appropriate that Carrie and I seem to always go to the cool climates on our trips. I am looking forward to the change in weather.I know in future installments, there will be lots of pictures. For now, however, I am going to sign off and relax a bit before the long flight. Cheers!
