The Countdown Begins

This is an actual photo of Carrie and me in Scotland.  Well, ok, you got me, it isn't.  But it IS the inspiration for the destination of our big trip this year.  As we were discussing where we wanted to go, it became clear that the single week we had spent there 12 years ago was insufficient.  So, we are remedying that issue in a few weeks.  I could say that Carrie is hard at work preparing for the trip, but she is actually in Mexico right now, enjoying the Sanchez's wonderful hospitality.  I do get to join them for the weekend in a few days, though.  As generous as Apple's vacation policy is, I still will be exhausting my available balance in Scotland, so I couldn't go south of the border for very long.Once we return, we will have 6 days until we leave for Scotland.  I think we have everything buttoned up for the trip, but we do have some work to do next week.  As surprising as it is, this trip is just Carrie and me.  We haven't taken a big trip alone since our first time to Ireland in 2003.  I'm really looking forward to it.  And, I'm looking forward to getting some serious relaxing done.  Carrie asked if it was ok if we left some time to relax, rather than jetting from one location to another.  um....YEAH!  was the clear answer from me.  It will be nice to get away.This blog entry is mainly to test out some new changes to the blog in preparation for our trip.  I will have more to say later.Cheers!
