Fast Approaching

Tonight, Carrie is preparing for the final school board meeting of the year.  She is SO stoked about presenting :).  We both have quite a few more loose ends to take care of for work before leaving on Thursday.  There is so much to consider, I probably won't really realize that we have gone, until we are in the air.  A lot has changed since our last European Vacation (Look kids, Big Ben...Parliament...).  I now have a year under my belt managing my former team.  I am blessed - I have some amazingly talented people to work with.  Last year, I was able to leave on vacation with little work concerns.  Now, I have a good understanding of what Carrie thinks about when she leaves for vacation.I went to Fedex/Kinkos to pick up the travel books that have become a tradition.  Carrie is quite the cruise director, and puts a lot of effort into planning the trip.  The books are just an example of her preparatory skills.  They do make it easy to keep track of where we've been, where we're going, and interesting things we've experienced along the way.  Thanks for doing that, honey! We're actually mostly packed, except for a few last-minute items we've identified (and we're picking those up tonight - yay).  This is really a new experience, as our major vacations recently have mostly been to Ireland.  While it is only one letter different, I suspect Iceland is an entirely different experience.  I can't wait!IMG_5026
